Socialistic motorsport icon Cassida was born. Czechoslovakian helmets swiftly dominated local market thanks to their appeal and helped to protect heads of generations of bikers. They had to manage with three simple and purposeful models. After the revolution in 1989, production stopped and name fell asleep for 25 years.
We resurrected Cassida brand with development and design of helmets fully in the hands of Czech specialists. Riders can currently choose from six base models in spectrum of designs and colour variations. They fulfil modern safety standards, technical fabrication and functionality, along with sustaining appeal of an original icon. Helmets are manufactured by verified companies and rigorously tested.
More history:
Socialist Czechoslovakia was a tough time and place for bikers in terms of motorcycles and moto gear selection. In case you found what you wanted, poor availability and pricing stroke you even harder. Noticeable hole in the market was at least partially filled by a state-owned (as usual back then) Tvar Pardubice manufacturing plant. In the year 1975, production of protective helmets for bikers and other sportsmen under the Cassida brand was launched. It did not take long for them to adopt a dominant role on the market. A majority of Czechoslovakian riders remembers iconic Cassida helmets. Model Integral GT with an elegant stripe alongside visor helped children to dream of their racing future. Those happier, who owned Jawa 21 “pioneer” motorbikes were wearing famous open “coconut” helmets for their country rides. Selection was complete with a Cross model with a plastic shield and small chin protector. 3-4 simple and purposeful models had to be enough for bikers, but brand had a great name between customers and had become a popular icon of socialist motorsport. Among other things due to a fact, that colourful products and advertising were in contrast to regular grey shades of socialistic goods.
After the revolution in 1989, helmets could not compete with western goods and were not able to cope with new safety regulations. Production simply stopped and brand disappeared for 25 years. In 2014, we decided to revive Cassida by our own initiative. Since revival, design and development of helmets is in our hands. On the global market overflowing with goods, fight for attention of distributors and riders is strenuous. Therefore we employ dedicated specialists and enthusiasts which work on development of Cassida helmets fulltime.
It has been 7 years and resurrected Cassida does not stop to move forwards. Step by step we develop various models to satisfy any biker´s needs. They can choose from fibreglass, or polycarbonate shell. Well built, comfortable and replaceable interior is a certainty by all helmets. Gradually we are introducing retro models which are comparable to the best in the industry, together with inheriting elegance of the original “Integral GT”. Every type is available in a spectrum of designs and colour variations. Because who would wear helmets and not like their appearance?
Cassida can be only as good as her development. As majority of us are active riders, therefore we can apply our own demands on gear. We take care of availability and wide range of accessories and helmet spare parts, to maximally prolong their life span - so helmets can serve you even years after expired warranty. You can get complete interiors, visors and their mechanisms, caps, ventilation parts, locks, etc. Spare parts are reasonably priced and we try our best to have everything on stock.
Helmets should not just suit you a look well. Their core function is lives and health protection and it is essential for producers to set the most responsible approach to this manner. Safety of Cassida helmets stands at the first place for us, so valid certification is a matter of course. Years 2015 – 2021 helmet models complied with certification standard ECE 22.05. 2022 is a year of transition towards a new and stricter ECE 22.06. certification standard for EU countries. Helmets are tested with more measuring points along their perimeter, more and stronger impact tests are specified. New standard also limits maximum possible visor darkening to 35 %. Strict P/J testing refers also to modular helmets and their locking mechanism. Cassida flip up helmets are certified for both opened and closed mode.
Selected integral and MX helmet models are equipped with Cassida SOS (Safety Opening System). We sincerely hope most of you will never need it. SOS is a premium safety feature of a helmet, capable of additional protection after a critical accident. It allows detaching lower part of the interior while driver still has a helmet on. Rescuer is then able to take the helmet off without a lot of dangerous manipulation with neck and head of injured driver. Not everyone will ever sit again on a bike after a very bad accident, but the SOS system increases the chance of simply walking
Between tens of thousands sportsmen and recreational riders who take on our helmets with trust are also known individuals from Czech world of motorsport. We support young talents on social networks and partner up with ambassadors, which help to build Cassida awareness. Thanks to this help is our revived Czech brand seen better, thank you!
No time to rest for our development team and plenty of news to come! With ever increasing offer, we came with special combined helmet boxes; they will come in 3 types: retro, modern and JAWA edition. New boxes are more durable, practical, but also have a great use in live presentation. We believe customers will fall for those and use them for storing helmets out of the season. Due to a very positive reaction about accessories, we plan Cassida goggles collection. New box allows their presentation alongside with helmet. Last but not least can our customers look forward to cleaners and care products! :)
